Chamke and her husband raised a family of 9 in the shtetl of Krynik.

Eight of the children emmigrated to the US in the 1920's. In 1938, the

remaining family members (Chamke, her husband, her daughter Frumke &

Frumke's husband and kids) just barely escaped the Holocaust, when

they were all brought to the US and Canada.
