Family of Robert Harvey GIVEN and Marian ZORK

GIVEN, Marian Zork, 89, passed away peacefully on December 21, 2012.

Marian was born October 1, 1923 and raised in El Paso, Texas. She

received her Bachelor's Degree from Mills College in 1945 and a

Master's Degree in Education from Columbia University in 1946. She

taught for a few years, then took time off to raise her family. She

went back to school to obtain her Masters in Counseling from UTEP in

1972, then went to work for the El Paso Child Guidance Center and

later was Executive Director for many years. In 1988, she went into

private practice as a Licensed Psychologist. Marian was involved in

many volunteer organizations, such as the Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts,

United Way, El Paso Mental Health/ Mental Retardation, National

Council of Jewish Women, Thomason Hospital and several school PTA's.

She received many honors from these organizations, including the

Hannah G. Solomon award from the National Council of Jewish Women and

the First Lady of El Paso award in 1988 from the City Council. She was

also a member of Temple Mount Sinai. Marian was preceded in death by

her parents, Luis and Ruth Zork and her husband, Robert Given. She is

survived by her children, Barbara Given Behne and Tom Given; her

sister Frances Litt; her grandchildren, Lisa Behne Wolff, Lindsey

Given Moran (Kevin) and Allison Given and her great granddaughter,

Harper Moran and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
